“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Saturday in North-Land
Russell/Movie Night/Walk & Swings
Saturday was a sleep in day! It was great! We were able to sleep in and then wake up and get ready at our ease! Today, our science teacher had invited us up to his house in Russell for the day! So today we were going to explore Russell!
Once we were all ready we got in the vans, and off we went! We drove for a little bit then we drove onto a ferry! Now this was one of the strangest things ever! We were still in the car, the car was turned off, yet we were moving! I haven't figured out why this was strange, but truthfully it was the weirdest feeling! We took a short ferry ride across the bay and about fifteen minutes later we were in Russell! The first stop we made in Russell was up to a flag pole look out! Guess what! You'll never believe this, but yes, it was another incredible view! Everywhere you go there is an incredible view! I can't believe it, but there is!

We spent sometime up there just relaxing and looking out. Although I've always known this and do it sometimes in the states, I've done it so much more over here, but just sitting and looking on all of the beauty that God has created, and the things he has given to us is such a powerful thing. It's such an amazing time for reflecting, and something I hope I continue to do when I get back home! I know there is beauty all around me even just by going up to the mountains. I am so grateful that I have been able to take the time to slow down and realize how amazing all of God's creations are.
After we spent sometime looking out, we went down to the town. This town is so quaint! So I have been told, it hasn't always been this quaint. It use to be a rough city. It was a fisherman's city, so there were always people drunk out in the streets, fights going on, and just a rough atmosphere. Now a days though, it's just a quaint little British settled community! It's adorable! We were able to then find sometime exploring the town! It was really fun! We looked through lots of shops! We even happened on to one of the most famous shops ever! The Krusty Krab from Sponge Bob Square Pants! Children all over the world would be thrilled to hear this! Only in  New Zealand would you find this! We thought it was really funny, so we went up and took a picture by it!
After we had explored, it was time to go meet Ian at his house for lunch. We provided lunch, so we took up Subway platters. We were getting a little bit sick of making meals for twenty plus people, so we decided we would let someone else take the work for us! It was well worth it too! Anyway, we go to his house, and we eat a delightful lunch, then it was time to swim! This was the most convenient thing ever! Right across the street...like literally across the street...was the beach! It was such a cute beach home! It  had the most amazing view! It was so nice! We went swimming and laid out, and listened to some great New Zealand Reggae music! Along with this Nicole walked the beach about 50 times talking about internship stuff! We are in the same grade so we started talking about everything about to happen and things we were going to get to do and have to do! It was such a great talk! We spent pretty much the rest of the afternoon there! It was incredible! I am going to come home tan, don't you even worry (Or at least I hope to).

After the day was pretty much gone, we headed back and we went to our motel. We got back and we decided we wanted to watch the sunset on the beach (The beach was right across the street from our hotel.) So we headed out. Unfortunately for us...we missed the majority of the sunset. But fortunately for us we did find swings and had a delightful evening walk along the beach! It was so much fun! Nicole, Neeley, Emily, Hannah and I enjoyed it very  much!
After we had our swinging time, we head back to the motel, and we turned out a movie/we turned on the tv and a movie was on! We watched Along Came Polly. It was the weirdest/awkwardest movie I have ever seen in my life. I'm not really sure why we kept watching it, because it wasn't that great, but we did, so oh well! ha ha! It was a really great night though! It was heaps of fun! I am going to miss the parks along the beach where you can go swing whenever you want! That is one of my favorite things over here is parks along the beach! New Zealand really is an amazing country!
