Sydney Australia
Queen Victoria Building/St. Mary's Cathedral/Hyde Park/Botanic Gardens/Pancakes on the Rocks/ Harbor Bridge
Sydney day two, what an incredible day! I loved the city of Sydney! I don't know why, but I loved everything this city had to offer! It had some of the most beautiful views as well as buildings! Anyway, today Neeley, Hannah and I slept in. we were completely exhausted. You see we had woken up at three to get ready for the taxi and the flight to Sydney then kept going that day, and went to the Opera house that night. That meant we had a late night. We had pretty much pulled an all nighter. We were tired, so we slept in till about nine, then we were off for more adventures! We started out by going to the Queen Victoria Building! While we were walking to the Queen Victoria Building, we passed by the Town Hall. This was a gorgeous building! We went and walked around a a little bit and looked at the building, but it was really pretty!
After we had taken some pictures we kept on going down to the Queen Victoria Buidiling. Queen Victoria Building is a building with heaps of shops! They are the really fancy shops, that are so fun to just go look at and wander through, but above and beyond that, this building had some of the most incredible architectural structure ever! It was so impressive! I loved this! Everything from the stairs to the outside, to the toilets, to the light fixtures, even the windows! It was gorgeous! We spent so long in there admiring the stores and the building! I loved it!
This was just a small treat of the building! It really was incredible! After this we walked up through Hyde Park again and we found St. Mary's Cathedral! This was such a gorgeous building! It was incredible! Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures in the Cathedral! I wish we could have because it was incredible! I felt like it was straight out of my Humanities books! I decided I love the pictures of the humanities books, and I love the old cathedrals and exploring them and seeing all of the amazing art work! I loved this. we spent quite a long time in front of St. Mary's Cathedral just exploring and admiring the windows and the art work!
Following this, we took the train back up to the Quay and walked over to the Botanic Gardens. Now I was expecting Gardens more like Wellington or Christchurch, but they weren't! These were more trees and outback Australia! It was really pretty! There was some gorgeous views of the harbor, and of the opera house, also there was a really neat wishing tree! You had to walk around the tree three times forwards and three times backwards. Now that doesn't sound like a lot, but it kind of was! No worries though, we did it, and I'll let you know if my wish ever comes true.
Following the Gardens we had planned to meet up with Heidi, Anna and Jessica at Pancakes on the Rocks for dinner! This was such a fun restaurant! They had amazing crapes, and dessert pancakes! Jess and I decided we would get one Savory crepe, and then a dessert pancakes! We had the Mexicana crepe, and then the pancakes with chocolate on them, ice cream, whipped cream, and walnuts! It was so good! I was in heaven! It tasted so good! Pictures are coming of all of this, but they are on Jess's camera, and she has to post them when she gets home...so soon they will come!
After dinner it was now time to go walk the Harbor Bridge! We all wanted to walk it together so we did! I'm going to be honest and say it was a little bit scary! It was a weird concept to think about! I was on the bridge walking, and over a whole ton of water! And it was really high up! But no worries we made it the entire way over! AND...we made it back! I walked over and back on the Harbor Bridge! It had some of the most incredible views of the Opera house and the City at night! It was gorgeous! We were laughing and having fun! It was so good to meet up with the other girls in Australia and see them! Always fun to have familiar faces!
After we walked across the bridge we were very cautious of being out late, so we decided we would head back to our hotel. None of us felt safe about being out late in a foreign country with no contacts so we ended our night with the Harbor Bridge walk. Day two of Sydney was incredible! It was so much fun! Like I said I loved Sydney!
